Catherine Palace is the Royal Palace, summer residence of Russian Tsars. Situated in town of Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo) in about 30 km. South-East from Saint Petersburg (about 35 km. from Peterhof). Palace, originally built for Russian Empress Catherine I in 1717. Demolished and rebuilt in 1756 by Bartolomeo Rastrelli... Destroyed during the WW II and then reconstructed. Palace also famous by its Amber Room (also reconstructed).
